USC RB Stafon Johnson in Hospital After Weighlifting Accident

The Trojans 2nd-leading rusher and touchdown leader this season (5 TDs) underwent emergency surgery Monday night after being rushed to the hospital when he dropped a weight bar on his neck while... doing bench presses. He is listed in 'critical but stable' condition. Johnson, who reportedly did have a spotter, was coughing up blood and could not speak immediately after the incident. Coach Pete Carroll said the weight bar "hit him with a lot of force" but as far as he knew there were no broken bones. more>>
